Relatives gather round the deathbed of a musician, some holding sheets of music. A violin lies next to the musician and a 'cello at the foot of the bed. Some of the figures are dressed in late 18th-century clothes, while others are dressed in the style of around 1820. The date of the painting might be ca. 1880. A violin and a cello are shown. Neither the country in which this was painted nor the name of the musician has been identified.
