Stereo image with its own viewer within Anglo-American case

Three quarter length portrait of a seated man. Facing front, but looking to his right. A book in his right hand in an interior setting with clouds on the left. Hand coloured with gold highlights. He sits with one hand rested on his knee whilst the other rests on an armrest holding a book. A curtain on the right side falls behind his head. He is well dressed and wears a necktie.

Case opens along the shorter edge.

Hand coloured. Known in the collection as 'The Show Girls'. Three-quarter length portrait of a seated young woman. She wears a dress with a full skirt and sleeveless, striped bodice. She also wears an earring, necklace and tiara that has achieved sparkly effect through small drilled/punched brilliants. She is seated in a high backed chair covered in lace. In her left hand, she holds up her veil which is attached to the tiara. Glass cover is detached from plate.
