His receding hair is in a side parting and he has a chinstrap beard. His right hand is on one knee and his left arm around the shoulders of the other sitter. The young man on the right is wearing trousers, floral patterned waistcoat with pocket watch chain, jacket and bow tie. His hair is in a side parting and is clean shaven. His hands rest in his lap. The watch chains and their lips and blush are hand coloured. Plain background.
