Paper sealing/binding is detatched and the plate partially corroded as seen. Conservation revealed the photographers name and lable from Copenhagen. The daguerreotype was probably mounted in a frame as there is no trace of a hanging system on the verso.

Magdalene Thoresen f. Kragh (1819-1903) giftet seg i 1843 med Hans Conrad Thoresen (1802-1858). Bosatt i Bergen på 1850-tallet. Duken i bildet indikerer at fotograf kan ha vært Marcus Selmer, jfr UBB-BS-OK-11662 og UBM-BY-05778d 1855. Preget merke på etui: MsonB, BREVETE, S.G.D.G. Magdalene Thoresen b. Kragh (1819-1903) married 1843 to Hans Conrad Thoresen (1802-1858). They lived in Bergen in the 1850s. The tablecloth indicates that the photographer may have been Marcus Selmer, cfr UBB-BS-OK-11662 og UBM-BY-05778d 1855. Embossed in the case cover: MsonB, BREVETE, S.G.D.G. The cover glass is domed so that it is in contact with the plate only on the edges.
