Though labels state 1843-1845, this was most likely taken by Pattinson in 1840 and is thus one of the first ever images of Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls, and therefore of Canada. One of a group of two, see 28218.

1st Earl Spencer' written on verso, also scratched into verso 'The celebrated Earl Spencer'. Though it cannot be the first earl as he died before photography was invented.
