On this sheet, the artist’s paint-style, which was somewhat mechanically entirely based on a quick brush guide, stands out, perhaps also because the motif was not (could be) even determined by herself, but rather presents the type of siliceous lake lying in a flat, slightly undulating open landscape. After her marriage to Prussian Lieutenant General Benno Hann von Weyhern in Berlin’s Tiergarten (Von-der-Heydt-Straße 8), the “Gutsherrntochter Adelaide von Kahle” lived in Bellin. From the area around her Berlin place of residence, from well-known Berlin excursions and from her native village Bellin, where she apparently stayed more often and longer, the motives of the consensus come from 15 drawings in the collection of the Stadtmuseum Berlin.
