The locality of Filea de Sus appearing on the Iosefin Map of Transylvania from 1769-1773 (094 sectio) is a component of the Ciurila commune situated at the temperance of the waters between AriLocbasin and SomeLocbasin, on the Feleac mountain at altitude 832 m. The shingle roofs of the buildings rise the church tower set on the slope of a hill that dominates the village.
