The pot of earthenware, with lid, probably Swedish manufacture, the shape copied after Chinese orginal. Painted in blue with Chinese in gold. “Bought for 14 kr. 1915 of an old rubber that lived in the city between the bridges [i.e. Stockholm, perhaps it aims at the Old Town]. She had owned and managed Drottningholm’s inn and had bought furniture and other Saker, which was then auctioned off the castle. The pot came from the castle. I showed it once for the Superintendent John Böttiger who considered it painted by courtiers in the 1700 century, when it was modern, when China Castle was built.” Height with lid 153 cm. The gold painting partly flawed.
