Mezzotint on paper of Lord Edward Charles Bentinck's (1744-1819) spaniel, engraved by James Watson (c.1740-1790) and published by John Boydell (1714-1804) in London in 1768. It is a copy of a painting by George Barret (1732-1784), which in the same year was exhibited at the Society of Artists of Great Britain, London. Irish artist Barret painted ten views of Welbeck Abbey (Northhamptonshire) for Lord Bentinck's brother, William Henry Cavendish Bentinck (1765-67), 3rd Duke of Portland.
