Mezzotint portrait on paper of Mary Laurence (née Hall) (1747–1815) as Una from book one of Edmund Spenser’s epic poem ‘The Faerie Queene’ (Canto 3, Verses 4 & 5), engraved by Richard Earlom (1743-1822) and published by John Boydell (1719-1804) in London in 1772. It is a copy of a painting by Benjamin West (1738-1820), now in the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford. Mary reclines on the ground flanked by a donkey and lion.
