Mezzotint portrait on paper of Lucy Loftus (née Brydes) (1652-1689), Viscountess Lisburne, engraved and published by John Smith in London c. 1685. It is a copy of a painting by Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723). Lucy was the daughter of George Brydes, 6th Baron Chandos and Lady Jane Savage, Baroness Chandos of Sudeley. She married Adam Loftus (1647-1691), 1st Viscount Lisburne, of Rathfarnham Castle (Dublin) and they had one daughter, also called Lucy Loftus, and a son, James. A related portrait of ‘Mrs Loftus’ by Sir Peter Lely is in the collection at Rathfarnham Castle (Office of Public Works).
