The picture has been taken in connection with cultural historical documentation of Vendel’s church in 2003. The longhouse is four trotés long and is covered by cruciate rib vaults. The chore is narrower than the longhouse and two trotés long. The church was vaulted in the mid-14th century. Before that, the church had high wooden barrel vaults. It is distinguished from the longhouse by a pointed arched triumphal arch. The floor is covered with limestone, in the choir there are laid older burial grounds in the floor. In the west of the church, the floor is raised and covered with age-old bricks. To the west there is an open space around the medieval baptismal find. The bench interior consists of closed bench blocks from the 1700s painted in blue and green tone marbling technique. There are several large niches on the north and south of the longhouse walls. In the south wall of the choir there are five small storage niches. The lime paintings date from 1451-52 and are executed by Johannes Iwan. The paintings were produced at a major restoration, carried out in 1930. Then the organ owner was also moved from the longhouse to his place in the new church. The New Church has a white painted wooden plafond roof with profiled moldings. The columns to the healer as well as the chestnut are marbled in blue-green notes. The reader is made in 1762. The organ façade of the gallery is designed by Olof Tempelman, but the organ is made in the 1890s. Adjacent to the west wall, at the opening towards the longhouse, stands a late coral organ painted in the same colours as other furnishings. A restoration was made in 1978-80, with service spaces and a smaller worship room. The wall facing the new church is provided with a light painted wooden panel.
