1841 copy of a painting by Charles Robert Leslie (1794-1859)

Portrait of a young woman. She has a collar with two ties going across her chest fastened with a large anchor shaped brooch. She wears a dark dress with a chain hanging down to her waist and a wedding ring. Her long sleeves are decorated with cuffs of a light filmy material.

Probably a Wharton case. Lightly hand-coloured
