The Portable Antiquities Scheme

An early Medieval copper alloy miniature brooch (13th-14th century). The brooch has a hexagonal frame, with each edge curved inwards. There is a notch on one side for the pin to attach to the frame. The pin is no longer present. The frame has a trapezoidal cross-section and the front is decorated with stamped rings that abut each other.Dimensions: diameter 16.44mm; thickness 1.59mm; weight 1.22g
