Copper alloy fragment, possibly the socketed shaft from a miniature spear. The object is a rolled over sheet of copper alloy that widens towards a flattned terminal that appears to open into something. Both ends are incomplete.The find was made in an area that has produced numerous Iron Age and Roman miniature shields, swords and spears. The object may not be this date however, and equally may be a medieval lace chape.
