Near-complete early Anglo-Saxon brooch. The headplate is a rounded semi-circle, with stamped 'double horseshoe'-like decorations around the edges. The foot below the bow has two pairs of lappets. Pin missing.This brooch is a distinctive type, related to the Continental radiate-headed series, which might perhaps be termed a miniature bow brooch. It dates to the fifth or sixth centuries AD. Several similar ones can be seen on the PAS database, for example KENT3392, KENT-09C753, KENT-625842, IOW-E94E22 and IOW-8F68C4.
