A copper alloy miniature cauldron; a toy, dating from the Medieval or Post Medieval period. The vessel is a miniature tripod cauldron. It is circular, with a flaring rim, waisted neck, and bulbous body with a flat base. Three oval sectioned legs project from the base of the object. The object measures 26.033mm in dept internally.The vessel has two diametrically opposed loop handles attached to the rim and shoulder. The cauldron has dark green colour. A similar example on the database is WMID-E6F6E4 which cites Egan and Forsyth (2005), page 111. The record notes that the cauldron is probably a Type 1 toy Cauldron dating from AD 1400 - 1600. These items appear in the late 15th and continue perhaps into the 18th century although are most common during the late 16th to 17th century.
