A complete cast bronze toy or miniature cauldron of late or post-Medieval date.The cauldron has a rounded body of oblate spheriod shape that curves inward before joining a slightly flared rim. Two curved lug handles are positioned opposite of each other, joining the top of the rim to the upper part of the body. Three legs support the body, with one leg positioned directly beneath a handle and the remaining two legs spaced evenly around the body. Each leg has a foot.The toy cauldron is undecorated, but an otherwise excellent specimen. The shape of the body suggests a 15th or 16th century date for its production (Butler and Green 2003:167).
