Copper alloy and cardLocket fragment. Pressed metal plate of 21mm diameter with a rim behind, the 1.6mm thickness of that rim may include a separate metal sleeve, and is slightly rebated at the top, probably to receive a back plate (now lost). The plate itself bears a stamped floral design and with its rim is framed by a separate cabled loop of twisted wire held in place by tension alone. Layers of thick degraded paper or card are retained behind the plate, and may relate to the function of the piece as a miniature picture frame or keepsake holder.
