The Portable Antiquities Scheme

A lead secular 'badge', in the form of a free-standing miniature bust of a young man, cast in the round with bouffant hair at the back and sides, and moulded details of large pointed oval eyes, nose and mouth and the upper part of his costume with a round neck with bordering pelleted band above oblique cross-hatching. The base has a triangular profile with a longitudinal arris. Measures 17mm x 23mm. Weighs 12.36 g. Cf. Spencer (1998), no.325e. First half of the 14th century.
