POST MEDIEVAL UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT

A flattened white metal section of tube, its flattened breadth tapering from 11 to 9mm, its flattened (double) thickness being 1mm. The surface of the metal presents a corrugated appearance which, if understood upon a tapering tube, would form an embossed screw-thread of which eight turns or consecutive ridges survive. The narrower end is plain and slightly in-turned: the wider end is ragged and torn. This may be a small ferrule or fitting from some screw-mounted attachment, or it might perhaps be the metal screw casing from the stem of a miniature electric lightbulb. It is probably post-mediaeval in date.
