An incomplete lead alloy miniature (toy) jug or tankard dating to the Post-medieval period. The toy is cast in two pieces, the seam still visible along the side; the toy consists of a complete base with a foot ring, an incomplete side handle and a bulbous container element. The exterior of which is decorated with moulded scrolls. The rim is missing. The surface has a matte grey patina, and where there is damage it slightly flakes and is a light grey colour. It measures 24.3mm long, 20.22mm wide, 18.1mm tall and weighs 10.7g.Toy jugs, as well as other miniature everyday items, were mass produced during Medieval and Post-medieval periods. This example probably dates to the mid 16th to 17th centuries.
