Treasure Report: 2012 T484 Parish/County: Morton Bagot, Warwickshire A medieval mount, crafted in the shape of the Crown of Thorns that was used to torture Christ at the Crucifixion. The mount is perforated at three points with a circular aperture, which provided the means of fixing it to the object is once decorated, probably a miniature figure of Christ. The mount is silver and dates from the fourteenth or fifteenth century. Dimensions: diameter 16 mm. Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
