A miniature silver medieval brooch, Treasure reference 2011 T892. The report for the coroner, inserted below, was prepared by J P Robinson of the British Museum.A miniature medieval brooch, decorated with a scalloped design on the front of the frame, which is circular. The pin rests within a recess and has a down-turned "hilt". The reverse of the brooch is much abraded, but appears to carry an inscription terminating in the letters L A(?)The brooch is silver and dates from the fourteenth century.Dimensions: diameter 12 mm.Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.J P RobinsonCurator of Medieval Collections
