Bonade painting

Abrahamsson, Clemet

According to the year and signing, the bonade is painted in 1815 “to the 12 extent” by Clemet Abrahamsson, 1795-1817. He was the son of Abraham Clemetsson, born and active in Urshult’s parish and continued the painting tradition and style of his father and paternal grandfather Clemet Håkansson. Since he died young male he probably never develop his own style and, contrary to his former relatives, is considered a bad cartoonist. Characteristic of Clemet Abrahamsson are the cartoon bare figures where the contours of the bodies are possibly drawn according to a figure template with clothes on, creating disproportionate body parts. Clemet Abrahamsson died as his father poor with few possessions but with a long list of outstanding claims from the tract, possibly from unpaid works with painted bonades (Nyström 2012: 74; Bringeus 1982: 74). Allbo-Kinnevaldsgruppe’s bonade industry is probably the run-up to the cheese slimentary bonade tradition. The Allbo-Kinnevaldsmäret is increasingly marked by its medieval pragel. The motifs are often placed under vault beetles that can sometimes accommodate anglahead with wings, giving a church character. Especially for this group is also that they completely lack the white bottom color that is otherwise typical of South Swedish bonade painting, but instead used a field divided bottom color in tender pink, light blue and/or gray. Green is rare and white occurs mostly under text fields (Nyström 2012: 189). The earliest rising bona slender fran this surrounded Jacob Danielsson (17111787) pa garden Robbatorp in the parish of Vastra Torsa, which according to Strombom ocksa is the originator of the Allbo-Kinnevald tradition. Otherwise, this tradition is characterised by a single genus that began with Clemet Håkansson (1729-1795) and continued with his son Abraham Clemetsson (1764-1841) and finally the late’s sons Clemet and Sven Abrahamsson (1795-1817 resp 1814-1858).
