Unknown artist
The artist erased a small format view of Moses, who receives the law boards from GottVater. Shown from the left profile, he kneels barefoot and stretches both hands towards the plates, which are handed to him by the holy father. Two Englein play in the sky. The frame is made of branch work. At the bottom are the year “1524” and the Dürer monogram above a Latin inscription. Not least because of this, Heller included the etching under the heading “After Dürer 's Paintings and Drawings” in his 1827 published Dürer publication (cf. Heller Dürer 1827 II.832.2237). However, Heller doubted the anchoring of the template drawing in the oeuvre of the Nuremberg master (e.g. Schöber 1769, p. 116).
