?possibly Nicholas Froment
This panel depicts God the Father and probably formed part of a larger piece depicting the Trinity. If this figure did form part of the Trinity, the composition was probably of the type made famous by the Trinity of Masaccio (1425-8) in Florence, in which God the Father is depicted as elderly and bearded, with arms outstretched and enclosing the figure of His son on the Cross and the dove of the Holy Spirit.
